With the help of Hulhudhoo Meedhoo Police Station, grade 6, 7 and 8 students were taken to explore reefs near “Boma Fannu". This area was cleaned by our tireless students collecting hundreds of plastic bags and plastic bottles. After exploring the reefs students were in awe of the beautiful underwater scenery as well as heavy-hearted by the extent to which coral reefs were damaged due to factors like coral bleaching, unethical fishing methods, water pollution, sedimentation and human activities.
reported that they saw different types of fishes and corals but sadly most of the corals were damaged or dead. so actions need to be taken to replace the dead corals.
